Beautiful story that had me reeled in from the start. The story has such a powerful message of forgiveness and how even though it is one of the hardest things to do it can also free you and allow better things to happen in your life. This is the second book in the Tulsa Romance series from Kristy Werner and both books have been wonderful and uplifting reads.

<![CDATA[It's Great Having a Biggest Fan]]>Tue, 12 Sep 2023 14:41:23 GMThttp://kristywernerauthor.com/blog/its-great-having-a-biggest-fanMy mom has always been my biggest fan. When my first contemporary romance, Resurrection, came out, she told everyone. And I mean everyone. Including her book club. I don't know how much convincing it took because it's not the genre they normally read, but they read my book this past August. I was blessed to meet with them over the weekend. My first book club meeting ever! We had so much fun. I enjoyed meeting my mom's friends and answering all their questions about me and my stories. We even talked a little about book three that's coming out this October - Restoration! They're a great group of gals, and I appreciate them so much.

Not only did I get to attend my first book club meeting, I also got to spend the weekend with my family, something I don't get to do often enough. Enjoy these photos!

<![CDATA[WriterCon 2023]]>Tue, 05 Sep 2023 02:38:03 GMThttp://kristywernerauthor.com/blog/writercon-2023I was blessed to attend WriterCon again this year. It was like going to a family reunion. Many familiar faces, and many new ones making their debut. Tosca Lee and Lisa Gardner, both New York Times bestselling authors, were the keynote speakers and taught some classes as well. I had the pleasure of having dinner with Tosca, getting lost in OKC with her, and visiting the local CVS Pharmacy to purchase a hairbrush. We lived out a novel in the span of a few hours! Make sure to view the video on FB and IG.

Late night every night, yucky hotel coffee, terrible pillows, but the company was amazing. Motivation flew high, and I'm soaring with a lot of new marketing ideas. I'm paid up for next year and on the search for another writer's conference to attend. They truly are the best investment for aspiring authors. Not only do you get to pitch agents and publishers, but you get the benefit of networking with other writers and knowing you aren't alone out there.

And... you just might get to meet a celebrity.

<![CDATA[Amelia's - Tulsa, OK]]>Wed, 21 Dec 2022 01:59:05 GMThttp://kristywernerauthor.com/blog/amelias-tulsa-okBook 2 in my Tulsa Town Romance Series is underway. I'm about 75% through the first draft and making changes left and right. Don't worry. I'll get it all nailed down and on your bookshelf this spring.
The opening chapter begins on Boston Ave at a cozy table for two in the swanky Amelia's in the Arts District of Tulsa. The conversation and the company are anything but cozy though. Josh has issues. Poor guy.
I had the great opportunity to spend a weekend in Tulsa with my best friend, and we went to Amelia's for dinner. It's a great place I would frequent if I lived in the area. The atmosphere could be fun or romantic, the music was upbeat, but not too loud, and the food was wonderful. Our server, Jake, was helpful and polite. He got a nice tip. You're welcome, Jake. We sat at the kitchen bar toward the back of the restaurant where we could see the entire venue. The ambiance was fantastic, and everyone seemed to be having a great time.
So if you're ever in the area, I suggest the beef short-ribs at Amelia's. But if you run into a blond in a slinky green dress... run.

Resurrection is now available at your favorite online retailer! This beautiful second-chance romance is a story you sure don't want to miss.
I had a lot of fun writing this story. Nick and Quinn were so easy I sometimes forget they aren't real people! Their story just flowed out of my head and onto the computer screen. They dictated, I typed.
I hope you love these two. I'm waiting on pins and needles to hear what you think.

<![CDATA[New Book Release: October 24, 2022]]>Tue, 18 Oct 2022 22:37:16 GMThttp://kristywernerauthor.com/blog/new-book-release-october-24-2022
The storm of tragedy almost killed her.
When landscape painter Quinn Alexander buried her husband, she buried her heart and career right beside him. Months later, her work sits unfinished, her Cherry Street gallery locked, her heart satisfied never to love—or hurt—again.
He can build a skyscraper, but he can’t rebuild his life.
Tulsa architect Nick James watched his wife die of cancer. Even though she made him promise to give love a second chance, he's convinced now is not the time. Maybe it never will be.
Love or fear… They both have to choose.
Nick and Quinn’s chance meeting at grief counseling sparks a friendship that threatens to bloom into something more. But will love overcome their fear? Or will the tragedies of life keep them apart?
Here's what a few early readers are saying:

"Resurrection is a tender-hearted, emotional love story that keeps you turning the page until the end. Grief is never easy to write about, but Kristy Werner does it in a way that draws you to both characters and longs for their story to have a happy ending."

"This is a well written book that hooks you on the first page. It's full of emotions and keeps you turning the pages to see what happens next. It's a beautiful Christian romance that you don't want to miss."

"This beautiful story came to life within the first chapter. It is a pure, whole hearted, and inspirational romance story. Sometimes what we think we need is opposite of what God’s will is. This story is a good reminder of that. Kristy Werner’s creativity and skill are unprecedented. I look forward to reading many more of her books."

<![CDATA[All The World Is A Stage]]>Wed, 12 Oct 2022 01:32:28 GMThttp://kristywernerauthor.com/blog/all-the-world-is-a-stageBut the little spot on Earth that I chose for the setting of my new Tulsa Town Romance series is my hometown Tulsa, OK--my stage if you will. I've had a lot of fun revisiting my hometown lately. Enjoying drives up and down Riverside Drive, eating at great restaurants like Amelia's and Andolini's, and walking around downtown. I never tire of being in T-Town. It's just a great place to be.

<![CDATA[I Changed My Mind...]]>Tue, 27 Sep 2022 03:51:44 GMThttp://kristywernerauthor.com/blog/i-changed-my-mindSo I jumped the gun, acted a bit prematurely, was overhasty, got ahead of myself. All of those things and any other description for acting too fast that Google can come up with. I released my book cover. And then... changed my mind. It was too busy. And after visiting with some other writer friends and people more "in the know" at WriterCon, I went back to the drawing board and had my designer change it up a bit. For those of you worried about not having the picture of Tulsa on the cover... don't worry. It's still included on the back of the paperback. What do you think?
